Are these really the issues behind the wrongs in the world? As long as we continue to have narrow focus on the issues we neglect the main issue – our own human nature. If we can gain an honest, holistic view on our humanity, I really think these specifics will fix themselves.

Edit: A half hour after writing this, I overheard bits of an elderly couple’s conversation. Two things that stood out to me were these:

“People these days don’t have the sense of decency that they used to. It’s all about me. Me me me.”
“The future does not look bright.”
