This idea is why kids think they’re designers as soon as they pick up the latest version of Photoshop.

The only photo that I actually got before my battery died the other night. I was trying to create an effect similar to some of the paintings that one of my drawing instructors, Jeff Peters, at LCAD did. Or at least the way that I remembered them.

He’d paint these amazing ethereal images of misty forests and trees (fruit trees I think) with rays of light often coming from behind. This is no where near what those paintings looked like, but I thought it came out pretty cool anyway – aside from the fact that I’m in it.

Went out and took photos at the lantern festival. Shot digital today, guessing that I’d need to switch lenses often, since I’ve never been to this event before. I thought I was going to get a lot of intimate shots of the lanterns but it turned out to be really crowded. I ended up with a lot of wide shots. Tripod really helped.
